The Sevmor Bandstand

The Sevmor Bandstand is one of the oldest surviving structures in Ostith Cross. It was designed by the engineer Marguerite Dravkenquen and completed in 1910. The structure stands 21 metres tall.

Marguerite Dravkenquen drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1910, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.

The Sevmor Bandstand was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
